Edit/View Mode

To make changes to a portfolio, switch the toggle at the top bar from View to Edit. In Edit mode, any instructions provided by a teacher (via a template) will be visible to guide your work.

Portfolio Title

Press the Header button at the top of the screen to edit the portfolio title (if it isn’t locked by the teacher in the template).

Sharing Permissions

Press the Sharing button at the top of the screen to set sharing permissions. You can choose which groups have access, and whether the portfolio is shared with Students & Teachers or Teachers Only.

Pages (Add, Reorder, Rename, Delete)

  • Add a Page: Use the Add a Page button to create a new page. You’ll be prompted to name the page. Each page includes the same three sections: Summary, Evidence, and Highlights.

  • Reorder Pages: Press Reorder to change the order of pages.

  • Rename Pages: Use the Rename button next to the page title. (Pages locked by a template cannot be renamed.)

  • Delete Pages: Use the Trash button. (Pages added via a template cannot be deleted. Deleted pages cannot be recovered.)

Cover Page

Every portfolio begins with a Cover Page, which is a space to introduce the portfolio as a whole.

  • Press Add Overview to create a new introduction.

  • In the Overview settings, add or edit a caption and/or a featured media item (photo, video, audio, PDF—either uploaded or captured on your device).

Visualizations

Some portfolios may include Visualizations on the Cover Page. These are added by teachers in templates and cannot be edited or removed by students.

Headline Count Visualization

Currently, there are three visualization types:

  • Bar Chart: shows the number of each COG tagged, visualized as bars.

  • Headline Count: shows a numeric count of COG tags as a large headline + icon pair.

  • Area Chart: shows how COGs have been tagged over time.

Sections on Each Page

Every portfolio page has three sections: Summary, Evidence, and Highlights. Teachers can add instructions to these sections in templates—use them as a guide for what’s expected.

  • Press Add Summary to create one, or Edit Summary to make changes.

  • In the Summary settings, add or edit your caption and/or featured media item (upload or capture on your device).

  • Use this space to introduce the page, set context, and connect your media to your narrative.

Evidence

  • Press Add Evidence to add posts to an empty evidence section.

  • To add or remove posts, press Manage Evidence.

  • In the evidence modal, browse your existing Unrulr posts and journeys. Hover (or tap on mobile) to add or preview a post.

  • Use the filter button in the top right to filter by COGS, making it easier to find the posts you need.

Highlights

  • Press Add Highlight to create a new highlight. You’ll be prompted to name it.

  • Press Edit Highlight to make changes.

  • In the Highlight settings, you can:

    • Rename the highlight

    • Add or edit the caption

    • Select individual media items from your Evidence section to feature

    • Delete the highlight (note: this cannot be undone)

Press on a piece of media in a highlight to open up the highlight in full screen.
